Joseph Emmanuel Yaba



Joseph Emmanuel Yaba is the CEO/Founder of Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YiSHDA) and has accumulated over ten years’ experience in the non-profit sector.

Joseph is a visionary young leader with extensive experience in creating and directing a non-profit and community-based organization/project and has also demonstrated leadership abilities among youths. In 2013, he was a Youth Delegate to the Inter-generational Dialogue between Heads of State in Africa and represented Nigeria at the Africa Youth Forum as part of the 50th Anniversary of African Unity. He was also a Panelist at the 2nd Edition of the Commonwealth Youth Program-Discovering Young Leaders Program (DYLP) where he held a discussion with participants across Africa and the Middle East.

In, 2014, he was one of four (4) Nigerian selected by the Israeli’s Agency for International Development Cooperation (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel) to participate in an International Training Program on “Policies, Strategies and Support Systems for Rural Revitalization”. He was also awarded a Membership Status by the Weitz Centre for Sustainable Development, Rehovot, Israel for becoming a Promoter of The Rehovot Approach of Integrated Development and also a Member in the Weitz Centre Friends Network, Israel.

Agbara Moses

Program & Communications Manager


Moses is the Director of Communications and Programs of Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa and has over five years of intense experience working in the non-profit sector. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Minna in Nigeria and is a Certified Associate in Project Management.

As the Project Manager for the Beyond Access Project in Nigeria, he has put in tremendous efforts in changing the face of Public Libraries in Northern Nigeria, repositioning them for better community service delivery through effective guidance for heads of libraries, as well as designing, and implementing economic opportunity training centred around business start-ups, and employability for young people, and internally displaced persons in the F.C.T.

Moses developed with great resilience a strong project coordination and implementation skills that entailed focused thinking and paying attention to details. He is currently instrumental in building and repositioning YiSHDA for strategic programing targeted at young people with a drive to impact his society positively

Benjamin Chibundu

Administrative & Finance Officer


Benjamin Chibundu is a graduate of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Development Studies (2011-2015). Prior to his employment as the administrative and finance officer at Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa, Benjamin had interned for Webtek Computer International Limited as an office assistant, and was also a clerical staff in the open registry office of Uruan Local Government Council in Akwa Ibom State.

Benjamin Chibundu is a professional administrator who is certified in both Human Resource Management and Project Management from Dexter and Hero's Consulting, has competent skills ranging from Budget Planning and Implementation, Accuracy and Accountability to competence in documentation. He utilizes his wealth of experience in achieving a very productive and stress free office environment, one which is structured to meet the diverse demands of a dynamic formal setting.

Builders Ogechi

Program Officer


Ogechi Builders is a Program Officer with Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YiSHDA) and is passionate Public Health Officer with three years of experience in Public Health Education and worked with some non-profit organization like KNVC Tuberculous Foundation for combating the infectious disease tuberculosis. Also, with the Nigeria Red cross society as a Team Leader and a team member in public health advocacy outreach efforts regarding safety and social distancing measures during covid 19 pandemic, she also volunteered in the Epidemiology Unit in Cross River Ministry of Health and also a Volunteer in one of the primary health care centers in one of the local government community in cross river state. Lastly worked with the African Center for Disease Control as a Community Health worker in combating covid 19.

Joel Tsado

Disability Program Expert

Joel is a certified and experienced educationist and counsellor, with over 30 years in experience in special education, persons living with disability (PwD) specifically, visual impaired and the deaf, using sign language, braille, etc., vocation rehabilitation counselling, disability management and inclusivity. Over the past 30 years of his experience, his time and efforts have mostly been invested in working with children, teenagers and young adults living with disability. Furthermore, he has active years working with women and girls living with disability, providing educational and psychosocial support. In addition to his professional activities, he has volunteered with organizations such as the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) with presence in several secondary schools across Northern Nigeria, where he has continued to play the role of counsellor and advisor to students at secondary, post-secondary and tertiary levels. Although he has been more involved in Civil service contributing skill, knowledge and experience to social and academic development of children, teenagers and young adults, he is currently an Independent Consultant, with the goal of making significant contribution to social development in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, drawing from his many years of experience
