Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YiSHDA) is a nongovernmental organisation based in Nigeria. Established in 2013, YiSHDA focuses on serving the youth population by providing support and opportunities for their personal and professional development.
The organization aims to help young people discover and develop their potential, develop leadership skills, and cultivate value creation abilities. By addressing knowledge gaps and providing educational training and capacity enhancement programs, YiSHDA empowers young individuals to make informed decisions and contribute to sustainable human development.
YiSHDA currently operates in three major states of Bauchi, Nasarawa, Kaduna and the FCT and has carried out projects across 16 other Northern states in Nigeria. We leverage collaborations with a wide range of partners both locally and internationally who share our focus on youth development.
Our organization is driven by qualified and certified experts who are passionate about youth development. We are supported by a board of trustees who provide effective guidance, establish clear organisational vision, and set the direction for YiSHDA’s activities.
Overall, YiSHDA strives to create a positive impact on the lives of young people in Nigeria by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities for personal growth and meaningful contributions to society. We are able to meet these goals through our Tech4Development program, sexual and reproductive health outreach, and library development initiatives.
We envision a future in which young people are actively contributing to the sustainable development of Africa.
We educate and inspire young people by building their capacity for leadership skills and responsibility, and through training, close existing knowledge gaps that hinder youths’ attainment of sustainable development goals.
